Kate is a writer, developer and producer who worked as Head of Development at The Steve Jaggi Company from the start of 2016 where she oversaw the development of a slate of feature films and television series, pitching at international markets and seeing four features into production and three selected for the Sydney Film Festival. Since the start of 2017 Kate has also been a part-time lecturer in screenwriting and producing at the Australian Film Television and Radio School.
Prior to that, Kate was at Screen NSW from mid 2012 where she was Development and Production Executive on numerous features and television series including Ali’s Wedding, The Daughter, Holding the Man, Love Child and Doctor Doctor. Kate was also convener of Screen NSW’s prestigious Aurora Script Development Workshop.
Kate was formerly head of digital at the National Film & Sound Archive where she was responsible for all media production and digital projects. Prior to that, Kate held roles at Film Australia, Network Ten, and the ABC. She has written, produced, and directed short drama, multiplatform programs, documentaries, children’s television, and has script edited feature films, animation and children’s television. Under her management, the NFSA digital platforms and projects won numerous awards, and she has been invited to speak at a number of Australian and international conferences on the digital space.
