Christine Kirkwood

Alumni Program Manager

Christine has a history with AFTRS spanning more than two decades. Prior to graduating in 2014 with a Graduate Certificate in Screen Music, she worked at the school in various areas including Marketing and Radio. Christine spent three years running the AFTRS Alumni Network where she ran local and international events, formed lasting relationships with thousands of graduates, and catapulted alumni into the world of social media, sowing the seeds for her current role. In 2023, Christine was a leading force in the AFTRS 50th Anniversary celebrations, creating content, bringing history to life and running a year long program of national and international events.

Christine’s work history outside AFTRS includes overseeing projects for ABC Radio, Create NSW, Foxtel, Legs on The Wall, First Cut Studio, and Janet Hine Design. Events Christine has worked on include the Commonwealth Games, the ARIA Awards, Sydney Fringe Festival, Disney musicals, Sydney Film Festival and more.

As well as writing and composing music- which is often accompanied by self-directed eclectic visual content- she is also a session singer and voice artist, providing voiceovers for ABC and SBS Radio. She has also trained hundreds of government professionals in voice, communication and presentation.

Christine was thrilled to re-launch the AFTRS Alumni Program in 2021, reigniting the AFTRS alumni community and helping to showcase incredible Australian talent to the world. Recent highlights include the launch of the AFTRS Alumni Advisory Group and the Alumni & Industry Scholarship Fund.
