Develop essential voice over skills
Take your first steps in voice over and discover the elements that bring scripts to life. In this Voice Over Workshop, you will learn the essential vocal techniques and skills required of a professional voice over artist as you gain experience script reading in AFTRS’ Studios.
Be guided through practical exercises, interpreting and performing a variety of scripts, incorporating feedback, and gain an understanding of the industry landscape and how to get your start.
At the end of this course, you will be able to:
Apply appropriate vocal and microphone techniques to deliver a professional read.
Interpret and perform a wide range of scripts, incorporating creative direction and timing.
Recognise industry standards and the professional expectations of a voice over artist.

This hands-on, introductory course covers voice over training for beginners, with no previous experience or knowledge required.
This course is ideal for aspiring voice over artists, actors, radio professionals and podcasters who want to learn professional techniques to break into the voice over industry and refine their vocal delivery for different formats.
Course Delivery & Requirements
Voice Over Workshop is an in-person course that takes place over 2 days face-to-face, 9:30am – 5:00pm.
AFTRS will provide all the equipment required for this course, participants are not permitted to bring their own equipment.

This course is for students aged 18+ only.
If a student wishes to withdraw from a course, they may do so up to 15 days before the course commences and get a full refund. Cancellations 14 days or less before course commencement will incur a penalty.
AFTRS reserves the right to cancel any course for any reason at any time. In the event of a course being cancelled by AFTRS prior to commencement a 100% refund or credit note of the course fees paid will be provided.
Should AFTRS need to cancel a course after commencement, but before its completion, reasonable efforts will be made to reschedule. If rescheduling is not feasible, it is at AFTRS sole discretion to issue either full or partial credit notes depending on the circumstances.
AFTRS will make every effort to ensure the scheduled run of any course.
