Production Accounting Intensive (Perth)

A still from 'I Am Emmanuel' | Dir. Genevieve Clay-Smith

Master the skills of production accounting

Production accountants are critical to the success of a screen production and are in high demand across Australia. The Production Accounting Intensive will help you tailor your accounting expertise to the screen industry and fast-track your career as a production accountant.

In this 5-day intensive, you will develop a strong understanding of a screen budget, finance plan, cashflow and drawdown schedule, and the obligations and requirements across each stage of production. Led by industry experts, you will gain hands-on experience with industry-standard production accounting software alongside in-depth knowledge of the role and insights from the industry.

At the end of this course, you will be able to:

Identify the production accountant and accounting department’s role and responsibilities at each stage of production.

Analyse relevant production documentation essential to accounting procedures, reporting and audit.

Apply production accounting skills using screen industry standard software.

“This is probably the best course I have done at AFTRS. Jill is an extremely knowledgeable and engaging lecturer. The production materials supplied were extraordinarily generous and wide ranging. I would recommend this course for anyone interested in finding out the nuts and bolts of a career in film production, particularly anyone in the production office.”
