We are excited to announce Mud Crab is now streaming online, with top selections by Vimeo, YouTube and Directors Notes.
Written and directed by David Robinson-Smith as a 2020 capstone project of the School’s Master of Arts Screen, Mud Crab has been touring national and international film festivals, to great acclaim, and now launches online:
Vimeo Staff Pick: Mud Crab has earned the coveted title of Vimeo Staff Pick. This curated selection, which features the best short films on the internet, is handpicked by Vimeo staff. With a subscriber base of 1.4 million, Vimeo Staff Pick provides a platform for exceptional storytelling and creativity.
YouTube Short of the Week: Mud Crab has been picked as YouTube’s Short of the Week. With an audience of millions, Short of the Week showcases over 2,000 short films from more than 50 countries across every genre.
Streaming on Directors Notes: Mud Crab is also available for streaming on Directors Notes, a platform known for its curated selection of cutting-edge short films.
“As Mud Crab reaches the end of its festival run, we’re exhilarated by this final accolade and the chance for new audiences to see the film. This recognition not only celebrates our film’s journey but also underscores the invaluable role institutions like AFTRS play in championing emerging voices in the industry and providing a launching pad for early career filmmakers.” – Adam Daniel, Co-producer Mud Crab.
Congratulations to the Mud Crab team, who include Master of Arts Screen collaborators: producers Adam Daniel and Adam Finney, production designers Sharna Graham and Calum Wilson Austin, editor James Taylor, composer James Mountain, and sound designer Nathan Turnbull. They are joined by cinematographer Jaclyn Paterson, a 2017 graduate of AFTRS.
