The Australian Film Television & Radio School (AFTRS) has announced the establishment of a new scholarship with Constellation Creatives, founded by actor and investment manager Orion Lee, to support and develop the career of an individual from Asian descent in the Australian screen industry.
Orion has garnered awards recognition for his leading performance as King Lu in A24’s First Cow. He also performed in the Oscar-nominated Pixar film Turning Red as well as appearing in several renowned theatres, including the Royal Shakespeare Company, National Theatre of Scotland and the Royal Court. Other film and television credits include Star Wars: The Last Jedi and Skyfall.
The Constellation Creatives Scholarship has been established in partnership with AFTRS to provide financial support for living expenses, educational resources or other related costs. The scholarship is valued at a minimum of $15,000. An additional, one-off payment of $5,000 is available to the Recipient in Year 3 of the Course if they choose the Industry Placement elective. This elective provides the Recipient with invaluable on-the-job experience and networking opportunities in the screen industry.

The successful applicant for will be selected based on creative excellence and the impact that the scholarship would have on their education.
