As we draw closer to the end of the year, it’s time to start setting yourself up for 2024. AFTRS Short Courses has you covered for everything you need to upskill or learn something new next month, so that you launch into the new year ready to take the next step in your career.

One of the most exciting and competitive fields in radio and TV is voice over, but just having a great voice is not enough; you need the skills to be able to use it properly. Our Voice Over Fundamentals course will help you discover the correct techniques to make the most of your voice and get started in the industry. Held in our studios over two days, learn from our expert practitioners who share their industry experience and insights in voice over and broadcast. Courses start Saturday, 2 December or Monday, 18 December.

Also starting Saturday, 2 December is the Assistant Directing Fundamentals short course, the only Assistant Director’s course in Australia approved by the Australian Director’s Guild. From pre-production and scheduling to workflow management and OH&S, learn about the roles and responsibilities of a 1st AD and the challenges of coordinating a film set. Gain first-hand insights from experienced assistant director, Liam Branagan, and take your on-set skills and experience to the next level.

Level up your editing with our Premiere Pro Fundamentals short course. Feel confident working with Adobe Premiere Pro in this two-day introductory course delivered in our fully-equipped Mac labs on campus. Gain an understanding of this essential editing software and learn basic editing skills, including adding audio, effects, transitions and text, exporting and importing. Course starts Monday, 18 December.

AFTRS for Business also has a suite of helpful short courses designed to improve your storytelling and communication skills. Stride into the new year with confidence ahead of every virtual or in-person presentation thanks to our Presentation Skills course.
