AFTRS Alumni at Sydney Film Festival 2018

The 2018 Sydney Film Festival program is out now! This year’s selection features a host of works by AFTRS alumni, both recent and from the years past; 15 alumni’s (plus two current student’s) works are featured amongst the short films, including Eryk Lenartowicz’s Cannes-selected Dots (2018); the works of 5 ex-students are amongst the festival’s fiction feature films, including a restoration of Gillian Armstrong’s pioneering feminist classic My Brilliant Career (1979); and 6 are amongst the feature documentaries. Not to mention the festival’s FLUX: ART+ FILM stream, which has been curated by 2018 Honorary Degree awardee Bridget Ikin.

However, we’re most excited about the whopping 16 alumni and staff whose works will be presented in the From Little Things Big Things Grow retrospective; a celebration of 25 years of Screen Australia’s Indigenous Department that includes early works by Warwick Thornton and Ivan Sen and is not to be missed.
