Accessible Film Studies Program

BUS STOP FILMS x AFTRS

Bus Stop Films has delivered its award-winning Accessible Film Studies Program in partnership with the Australian Film Television and Radio School since 2016.

Bus Stop’s classes teach adults with mild to moderate intellectual disability film studies subjects in order to increase their understanding of filmmaking and film theory. While studying with Bus Stop students also experience transformational outcomes such as increased work readiness, English and communication skills, as well as social skills, confidence and well-being.

Delivered by passionate filmmakers and industry professionals in the world-class environment of AFTRS, students create amazing inclusive films of the highest artistic quality. Their films have won multiple awards and have screened in festivals and events all over the world. Students are also offered pathways to work experience and paid attachments with leading production companies and projects in the Australian screen industry.

AFTRS is proud to support the work of Bus Stop Films, not only through access to our school facilities but to also to work alongside the organisation which is driven to achieve a more diverse and inclusive screen industry.
