An AFTRS Short Course is the perfect opportunity to reskill or refine your technique in a specialist discipline area.

With over two hundred Short Courses delivered each year throughout the nation, spanning all discipline areas taught at the School, there are plenty of opportunities for industry professionals and emerging storytellers to hone their craft skills.

Short courses vary in scale and duration and range from:

  • Masterclasses
  • Seminars
  • One day workshops
  • Two and three day tutorials
    through to
  • Week long intensive residentials.

Places in AFTRS Short Courses are limited so selection is often competitive.

Fees for short courses vary according to the type and length of course. All AFTRS Short Course fees include GST where applicable.

AFTRS Short Courses are open to Australian and New Zealand citizens, Australian permanent residents and holders of an Australian permanent resident humanitarian visa.

Applicants are required to provide a curriculum vitae and/or a course goal statement.

Fee assistance is available for indigenous Australians through the AFTRS IPI program
