GRADUATE DIPLOMA IN SOUND POST PRODUCTION
You will learn the key principles of screenwriting and apply them
in rigorous practical modules that concentrate on structure,
character and genres for both TV and film. The course offers you at
least one if not more opportunities to work with Graduate Diploma
directors and producers on the filmed screen exercises. The course
requires you to develop a treatment for feature film and/or TV
project, as well as a pilot script.

GRADUATE DIPLOMA IN SCREEN SOUND RECORDING
EXTEND YOUR PASSION FOR SOUND RECORDING TO FORM THE BACKBONE OF THE SCREEN SOUNDTRACK.
You will gain specialist skills, knowledge and practical
experience required to capture sounds on location and in studio
that allow for creative engagement as a sound recordist. You will
be given considerable practical opportunities to explore creative
operational roles in sound recording for drama, documentary
animation and other screen media productions. You will develop
critical and collaborative skills and concentrate your listening
potential. You will investigate techniques, concepts, technologies
and terminology relevant to a number of operational roles including
location recordist, location mixer, recording operator, boom
operator, playback operator and recording assistant for screen
media productions

You will initiate and realise a major project that is only limited
by your imagination and the resources AFTRS is able to provide.
Hone your specialist skills through a tailored, in-depth and
intensely practically focused course that will help you achieve
mastery in your chosen area of specialisation, and also investigate
Australian screen history and big philosophical and sociological
ideas in action for context and meaning,. You will be supported to
map out your own path in what is an increasingly competitive
marketplace as you collaborate with others to achieve genuinely
innovative work.
* Only open to AFTRS Graduates who completed a Graduate Diploma
between 2009 and 2011. Applicants will need to have demonstrated a
high degree of originality and assured craft skills to gain entry
into the course.
